Percy Jackson and Vampire Academy graphic novels

These are the first graphic novels I’ve ever read. I have to read one for the 2015 Reading Challenge so I thought I’d see if I liked them first. I’m not using either of these for the challenge though. I have one on my to read pile for that.percy-graphic

The first one I read is Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief and as much as I love the books, I hated the graphic novel. I know you can’t fit all of the book into it but it was missing some pretty big scenes from it. The illustrations (is that what they’re called? I don’t know) were horrible! I can’t remember how old Grover was in the books but in this he looked like he was old, like late 30’s. The only character I kind of liked was Annabeth but that wasn’t how I pictured her.

I doubt very much I’ll be reading anymore of the Percy Jackson graphic novels.

I mean, they couldn’t have been worse. I’ve read both the Vampire Academy and Bloodlines series (Ruby Circle this year!! Argh!) and prefer Bloodlines but this way really good. My library doesn’t have anymore in the series but I may look into getting them one day.

I feel like I talk about my reading challenge in every post now. I think the next five books are also on the list so I apologise in advance if this is annoying you. Not every book I read will have to do with the challenge.

I went to the library yesterday and got four books, none of them for the challenge, I don’t know if I’ll read them all but we’ll see.

Happy reading bookworms, A
