This meme is hosted by Sam over at Taking on a World of Words. All you have to do is answer the following three questions in a post and then put a link to that post in the Comments over at Taking on a World of Words.
The questions are:
1. What are you currently reading?
2. What did you recently finish reading?
3. What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently Reading –
I started reading Hour of the Bees this morning. I’m not that far in yet, only 70 pages, but so far I like it.
It’s about a young girl and her family as they spend the summer at her grandfather’s ranch before they move him into a retirement home. He has dementia and can’t stay by himself anymore. As Carol gets to know her grandfather for the first time she also gets to know where she came from. And why she’s being followed by bees…
Like I said, I’m not that far in yet but Carol has been noticing the bees. Walker Books Australia sent me a copy of Hour of the Bees to review.
I’m reading A Storm of Swords Part 2 for a read a long I’m participating in on Instagram (@aimee_reads23) and Goodreads. We’ve been reading one book every few months but I fell behind because my editions of A Storm of Swords are in two parts and when I got the the second part I just couldn’t be bothered.
I am aiming to read at least 100 pages a day. The book has 550 pages so I’ll hopefully have it read by the end of this week and I can start A Feast for Crows. I won’t be in such a rush to finish that because I think the read a long has another three weeks. I hope it does anyway.
This is only the third day of the read along and so far I’ve read 220 pages. I’ve read A Song of Ice and Fire series before but I wanted to read the books again. I’m enjoying it now that I’ve got back into it.
Recently Finished –
I finished Book of Lies yesterday. This is the fifth book of Teri’s that I’ve read. I really liked her Slated trilogy and Mind Games.
Book of Lies is about Piper and Quinn, twins that were separated at birth and have now found each other. But one of the twins is full of darkness and there is a reason they were always kept apart.
I really liked Book of Lies. I’ll be doing a full review soon so I’m not going to say much about it here. I received a copy of this from Hachette New Zealand to review.
I read MARTians over the weekend and I think I missed the whole point of the book. I was confused while I read it. I’ve seen on Goodreads that a lot of people loved it but I’m not sure why.
MARTians follows Zoe as she graduates from school and gets her first job at AllMART. In this world, the people who can, shop and the people who can’t, survive.
It was basically about consumerism. It controlled their lives. But Zoe wanted something else, something more. I’ll do a full review soon. Once I can figure out what to say. I received a copy of MARTians from Walker Books Australia to review.
I enjoyed Beloved Poison more than I thought I would. It did sound interesting when I requested a copy to review but I was surprised by how much I liked it.
Beloved Poison follows Jem as she finds six tiny coffins hidden in the old chapel. They coffins are full of old flowers, some fabric and tiny dolls. As Jem and Will investigate where they came from there are deadly consequences for the people around them.
I received a copy of this from Hachette New Zealand to review. I’ll hopefully be posting my full review of this soon.

I am finally getting to The Yearbook Committee. I’ve been seeing this a lot on Bookstagram lately and thought seemed like something I’d like.
I think this is told in multiple perspectives, four or five I think. I’m not really sure what it’s about, I’ve forgotten since I read the synopsis last month. But I want to go into it blind.
I received a copy of The Yearbook Committee from HarperCollins New Zealand to review.
