I was in a really bad reading slump before I picked this up. I think The Infinite Sea has finally gotten me out of it. Fingers crossed it lasts.

I went into this with no idea what was going to happen and I hadn’t made any guesses from the last book. So I was not expecting what happened in this book at all. I have no idea where The Last Star is going but I am looking forward to finding out when I read it this month.

The Other’s 5th Wave is genius. It is scary how smart the 5th Wave actually is because how many people would turn their backs on a child that’s all alone? I’m obviously not going to give anything away but I think this would definitely wipe out a lot of people.

I like Cassie but I’m still not really sure about the others. I think their time at Camp Haven has changed them from the kids they used to be, especially when they found out what the camp was actually doing. I can see why Cassie felt left out by them. They are a tight group and know how to work together, thanks to the camp, and Cassie only know Sam and Ben. And Sam has changed from the brother she knew too even though he wasn’t at the camp as long as the others. But I think they all would have had to grow up eventually anyway because there’s no one around, parents, to help them anymore.

I think there was a major reveal about what these ‘Others’ actually are but I’ve already forgotten a lot of what happened and I was left a little confused by some things too. This is the problem I have when I read a book too fast. I fly through the book and miss some of the important things. But, I know where it was in the book so I might just go back to it before I read The Last Star or I might be even more confused when I read it.

I don’t know what it is about these books but I’ve been hooked from the start of both. The 5th Wave took me a little longer to read because I was reading another book at the same time but the story has had me on the edge of my seat. I didn’t want to put the book down because I wanted to know what happened next.

I have loved the first two books in this trilogy so far and I’m really excited to read The Last Star later in the month to finally see how the story ends and what happens to Cassie and the rest of the kids.
