I decided to make a small TBR for February. I didn’t have one last month. I’m not sure if making large TBRs last year was one of the reasons I had so many reading slumps but I thought making small ones and not putting so much pressure on myself might help me this year. Fingers crossed anyway.
I only have six books on my TBR for this month. I might add to it if I run out but I did only read eight books in January and they were small compared to the ones I plan to read in February. So I guess I’ll see what happens.
In my pile this month are –
Still Me by Jojo Moyes – This is the third book that follows Louisa Clark. This time she’s in New York City in a new job. I can’t wait to see what she gets up to this time!
Nexus by Scott Westerfeld, Margot Lanagan and Deborah Biancotti – This is the third and final book in the Zeroes series. I’m looking forward to seeing how this story ends.
Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco – I just finished this the other day and I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected to. I had heard good things about it but I wasn’t 100% sure if I’d like it. Hopefully I’ll post a review soon.
City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty – I’ve wanted to read this for a while now. I didn’t know how small the writing was or how big the book is. I might save this for later in the month…
The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert – I’ve heard good things about this too so I’m looking forward to reading sometime this month.
I don’t know what books I’ll be adding to my pile if I get through these. I might take a trip to the library and see what they have.
What’s on your February TBR? If you don’t do TBRs what are you hoping to read this month?
So this month I have a pile of books to read but I know I won’t read them all. But I decided to share them anyway because it might make me get my ass into gear and actually pick one of them up. I haven’t read anything since Friday I think.
I know this is a huge pile. Two of these books have been on my TBR for months and I seriously need to pick them up and read them.
I’m really excited to read Wonder Woman: Warbringer and Because You Love to Hate Me. I’ve been wanting to read them both since I first heard of them.
What’s on your TBR for September? Any recommendations from my TBR to read first?
This is a really short post today because I have no idea what else to write…
I know this is a week late but better late than never I guess… I have read two and a bit books this month but only one of them is actually in the TBR pile… One I totally forgot about and the other one I was reading at the time and it slipped my mind.
I’ve read The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye and The Student by Iain Ryan. I enjoyed both of them but I did like The Crown’s Game more. I’m currently reading Darien: Empire of Salt by C.F. Iggulden. This is the first book in a new YA fantasy trilogy/series. I’m enjoying this too but I just haven’t been in the mood to read so I’m kind of struggling with it. I don’t think it’s the book though.
Then there’s the books on my TBR that I haven’t gotten to yet. My next read will be I Have No Secrets by Penny Joelson. This sounds really good and I can’t wait to pick it up. It will also be my third book for ARC August.
A few of the books on this month’s TBR were also on my July TBR… I have been reading really slowly lately. My new medication makes me nauseous and I just can’t read when I feel like throwing up all the time. But I’m hoping to actually read Godblind, Midnight Jewel and Song of the Current this month.
It’s kind of an ambitious TBR pile considering my reading has been slowing down but whatever. We’ll find out how many I’ll actually get through at the end of the month.
What’s on your TBR for August?
I didn’t read as much as I wanted to in June. I mean, nine books is still good it just wasn’t what I had planned. But whatever.
Contagion by Teri Terry – ★★★★/5
One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus – ★★★★/5
The Cows by Dawn O’Porter – ★★★★/
The Names They Gave Us by Emery Lord – ★★★★/5
Pieces of You by Eileen Merriman – ★★★★/5
Ida by Alison Evans – ★★★/5
Defy the Stars by Claudia Gray – ★★★/5
Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh – ★★★★/5
Beyond the Wall Tanya Landman – ★★★★/5
So read some pretty good books in June. I think my favourite was Flame in the Mist. But I’ll talk about that more in my review.
Onto my July TBR.
I’ve almost finished reading The Glittering Court and I’ve actually enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to reading Midnight Jewel soon.
I have been thinking that I might mix up my review books with some of my own books. I think that’s what’s been putting me in a reading slump. So I’m not expecting to stick to this TBR too closely.
What’s on your July TBR?
It’s that time of the month again when I do my wrap up of what I read last month and my TBR. I didn’t really stick to my May TBR so it’s probably good I’m not sharing it. Hopefully I’ll do better this month.
The End of Oz by Danielle Paige – ★★★/5
Finding Nevo by Nevo Zisin – ★★★★★/5
Resurrection Bay by Emma Viskic – ★★★★/5
Silver Stars by Michael Grant – ★★★★/5
The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan – ★★★★/5

The Possible by Tara Altebrando – ★★★★/5
Release by Patrick Ness – ★★★/5
A Million Worlds with You by Claudia Gray – ★★★★/5
Fatal Crossing by Lone Theils – ★★★/5
Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer – ★★★★/5
I didn’t do too badly in May. I managed to read 11 books. I think my favourite was Finding Nevo.
I tried to keep my June TBR small because I didn’t really stick to my TBR last month. I’ve already read Contagion and I’m currently reading One of Us is Lying, which reminding me a lot of Gossip Girl. I think my next read will be The Cows.
What’s on your June TBR? How many books did you read in May? Leave me a comment and let me know.
I’ve finally got my May TBR together so I decided to share it and my April wrap up today. I did forget one book in my wrap up photo but it’s so hard to get back into the box set that I couldn’t be bothered getting it and taking a new one. So I’m just going to jump right in.
The Roanoke Girls by Amy Ewing – 4/5 stars
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by J.K. Rowling – 5/5 stars
Black by Fleur Ferris – 4/5 stars
What Girls are Made Of by Elana K. Arnold – 3/5 stars
Traitor to the Throne by Alwyn Hamilton – 4/5 stars
The Silent Invasion by James Bradley – 3/5 stars
Front Lines by Michael Grant – 3/5 stars
Into the Water by Paula Hawkins – 4/5 stars
But then I Came Back by Estelle Lure – 3/5 stars
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling – 5/5 stars
For some reason I’m having trouble with WordPress on both Google Chrome (it won’t load at all) and Internet Explorer. For some reason it won’t let me post the stars that I usually use as my ratings in my wrap ups. I tried Firefox or whatever it’s called but that was slower to load than the computer and I just could not be fucked with that. So if anyone can tell me why it won’t load on Chrome it would be great! I’ve uninstalled it and re-installed it and still have the same problem.
Anyway, onto my May TBR.
I started reading The End of Oz yesterday. I didn’t get a lot read because I kept getting distracted but I’m hoping to read more today. I’ve already picked what I’ll be reading next, Finding Nevo. This sounds so good and I can’t wait to pick it up.
What’s on your May TBR?
I read a lot more in March than I did in February. I was actually falling behind on my reading challenge in February but I’ve managed to be ahead of schedule now. So yay. Anyway, onto my wrap up…
Wayfarer by Alexandra Bracken – ★★★/5
The Song from Somewhere Else by A.F. Harrold – ★★★/5
King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard – ★★★★/5
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas – ★★★★★/5
See You in the Cosmos by Jack Cheng – ★★★★/5
Aerie by Maria Dahvana Headley – ★★★/5
The Edge of Everything by Jeff Giles – ★★★/5
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor – ★★★★/5
The Secret Science of Magic by Melissa Keil – ★★★/5
Shadows on the Moon by Zoe Marriott – ★★★★/5
Allegedly by Tiffany D. Jackson – ★★★★★/5
My favourites were definitely The Hate U Give and Allegedly. Which I didn’t think I’d finish in March so I put it on my April TBR. I couldn’t be bothered taking another photo though.
So Allegedly doesn’t count and I’ve already read The Roanoke Girls. That was disturbing but really good. I couldn’t put it down.
I’m actually reading a book that’s not in this photo because I didn’t have it at the time I took it. I started the new edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them by J.K. Rowling this morning. It’s got a forward by the author, Newt Scamander, which was the best! I can’t wait to find the six new beasts in the book.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban will be a re-read. I wanted to re-read the series after seeing the Fantastic Beasts movie last year.
