The questions are:
1. What are you currently reading?
2. What did you recently finish reading?
3. What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading –
DCAdcxrUwAA6CCDI’m not reading anything at the moment. I’ve been sick since the end of last week and I am just so tired and my eyes hurt so I’m not going to pick anything up today. I need a break for now. I know being sick seems like the best time to do nothing and read but not this time.

So I’m just going to leave a shelfie here because I don’t have a book to post. I bought a third bookcase last week and it was put up over the weekend. This isn’t the best photo because not every shelf fits in an instagram photo but oh well. You get the idea. But I am so happy that I have room for more books!!!

Recently Finished –
I finished The Names They Gave Us yesterday and I enjoyed this more than I thought I would.

This book follows Lucy as she comes to terms with her mother’s cancer coming back, being a camp counselor at a “hippie camp” across the lake from her parents’ camp, where she planned to spend the summer. At Daybreak, Lucy meets Jones, a charming and mysterious boy.

So I thought this would be the usual girl meets boy, boy helps girl or changes her life. And yes, Jones did open Lucy’s eyes but there was so much more to the story than the connection between Lucy and Jones. I’ll be talking 2about it more in my review.

I also finished The Cows, which was so good! It’s not YA but I really enjoyed this.

The Cows follows three women, all strangers, who are come into each others lives in the most random and kind of horrible ways. But for some it changes their lives for the better. I don’t want to say too much about this because I will be reviewing it soon but I really, really enjoyed this book. It was a little weird in parts but you’ll have to read it to find out why…

Reading Next –
I’ve decided I’ll be reading Ida next. I can’t really remember what this is about but I think it has an LGBT+ character. Or more than one? I’m not sure. I guess I’ll find out when I feel like reading again. Hopefully it’ll be soon because my TBR is crazy long.

So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week. Fingers crossed I feel better by next week. I’m off to watch some Teen Mom now.

Let me know what you’ve been reading lately in the comments.

I’ve been reading The Girls for the past few days. I think I started it on Sunday? I’m not sure.

Anyway, my reading has slowed down a lot lately. It’s like my brains like “I’ve reached my goal on Goodreads so I don’t have to read as much.” I don’t know what it is. I think I have 100 pages left of The Girls but I don’t think I’ll be finishing it today.

I don’t know what I fell about this yet. It’s not bad and I’m not struggling with the writing or anything. I think I’m more confused. I was told it was a Charles Manson book but he’s not even mentioned so it might be inspired by him and his freaky cult. I don’t know. I think I’ll look into it before I write my review though. CnMwvVtUsAAF-j3

I’m still reading Awaken. This book went on a little adventure for a few days and I wasn’t able to read it because I had left it at a friends house. But I have it back now and am hoping to finish it this week.

It seems to be taking me a while to read and I’m not sure if it’s the book or because of my problem with reading at the moment. I’m guessing that the book isn’t the problem. The story is interesting and I want to know what’s going to happen with Sophia but it’s just dragging for me. CmkZqkbUMAAMmyt

I think i finished Dark Tide on the weekend or last Friday, again I’m not sure.

I have really enjoyed all three books in this series so far. I’m looking forward to reading the last book, whenever I find a copy of it.

This series is about six mermaids who were chosen to save their realm and the world from an evil that’s about to be released. I like that the lead characters are mainly young women/mermaids and that they don’t rely on mermen to rescue them. I’ll be doing a review on this soon. CnDInfzUMAAHqW5

Reading Next –
I think I say this every week now but I never know what I’m reading next until I pull a book out of my TBR jar. I usually do it closer to finishing my current read but because the two I’ve been reading lately have been dragging I haven’t picked one yet.

But I now have a small TBR bookcase instead of piling the books on my bedside table. There are almost 50 unread books on this bookcase. And I went to the library yesterday and got some from there… I doubt I’ll read them though.

Are there any books on the bookcase you’ve enjoyed lately?

Top Ten Tuesday (June 7th): Ten Reasons I Love Reading.

Cf9fcBRUIAEsBZV
This weeks Top Ten Tuesday is to give ten reasons why you love something. I decided to pick reading because I’m lazy and don’t have the time to do something more specific. I was going to do Harry Potter but I talk about that too much. Reading is just easier.

1. Reading lets me enter new worlds. I love being able to pick up a book and leave my very mundane life and enter another one. It doesn’t even matter if it’s a made up place like Hogwarts or Narnia, I can get lost reading about places I’ve never been to.

2. I’ve met a lot of great people through our love of books. I don’t have a lot of friends that read IRL which is why I made my Bookstagram account and my blog. I can talk all day about books to other book lovers and not annoy anyone.

3. I learn things when I read. I read a lot of YA books but that doesn’t mean I don’t learn new things while I read them. When I read The Art of Being Normal by Lisa Williamson it opened my eyes to a few things and I learned something that had never crossed my mind before.

4. I’m never bored when I have a book with me. I take a book everywhere with me. Well, not the bathroom. But when I go out I always take a book with me, even if I know I’ll have no time to read I still take one. I hate being bored and having nothing to do but with a book it’s always exciting to see what the characters I’m reading about will do next.

5. Trying to guess what will happen next. When I read thrillers and mysteries I like to try to figure things out before it’s all revealed. But I also love reading books where I have no clue what’s going on and the author is able to surprise me. It doesn’t happen a lot but I love it when it does.

6. Curling up with a book, warm blanket and a cup of tea/coffee. I think this is one of my favourite things to do. Especially in winter when it’s raining outside. A blanket doesn’t make much sense in summer though.

7. I love the smell of new books. A weird reason to love reading but I do love to smell new books.

8. Book mail! Book mail is the best kind of mail. I love getting books in the mail that I’ve forgotten I’ve ordered. Hasn’t happened for a while because I’m on a book buying ban but still.

9. Reading is a great way for me to relax. Sitting down after a long day with my current read always helps me relax. I try to read every day, even if I’m exhausted.

10. Discovering new worlds and genres. I’ve been reading a lot of different genres to what I read normally. Which has opened me up to more books, authors and worlds. I always like to pick up a book I don’t think I’ll like and be surprised by how much I do.

So, those are some of the reasons why I love to read. Why do you love reading?
